From the system documentation:
Tyan S2466 mainboard BIOS v4.05, Intel SCSI RAID controller, IDE CD-ROM, Broadcom/Tigon 10/100/1000baseTX NIC, AMD Athlon-MP 2000+ CPU (2x), 2048Mb PC2100 RAM.
>Description:
System boots off of install CD as expected
Partition and format of RAID 1 drive set successful

sysinst _cannot_ set NIC correctly for connection to network (100baseTX full-duplex) although this can be accomplished at the command prompt (and the network successfully reached).

Fell back to CD install (because of network issue), but on attempting to unzip the .tgz files this error occurs on each file access attempt:
cd0 (pciide0:0:0): illegal request, data = 00 00 00 00 21 00 00 00 00 00

The .tgz files can be successfully extracted on other devices and match MD5 checksums.
>How-To-Repeat:
run sysinst
