>Description:

I've used chat/zenicb for ages on older xemacs and emacs versions. Some
unrelated events recently forced me to rebuild all packages and I found I
needed to use xemacs-current now. Unfortunately, it does not play well
with zenicb. Sometimes apparently bytes are swallowed or zero length packets
inserted (I don't realy know, lisp is not my strongest language, or in other
words I can hardly read it).

The zenicb in pkgsrc produces things like this:

[server] ^@mbXXXXXXXXX^AXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
[server] XXXXXXXXXXX^AXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX^@!bXXX^AXXX
[server] XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX^@AdSign-off^AXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX has signed off.

Most of the time the client is unusable after this - I had to quit emacs and
restart.

The newer version (from hungry.com) does things like:

12:42 <telepooka> martin: see some send-pr by m
12:42 <telepook> nil
[error] e
12:43 <telepooka> kern/12534 seems about right

This client at least recovered after the error.

I tried to report the bug to the xemacs beta team, but they don't know
anything about ICB :-}

>How-To-Repeat:

Use zenicb on xemacs-current for a few hours (sometimes it happens after a
few minutes, sometimes it works for many hours).
