>Description:
The NetBSD pkgsrc/lang/ghc package has been broken ever since
NetBSD/i386 went ELF. GHC is problematic to package since it
is a compiler for Haskell that is itself written in Haskell,
so there is a complex bootstrapping problem involved. After some
struggle I have managed to re-port GHC 5.04.3 to
NetBSD/i386. An updated pkgsrc package is available here:

	    http://www.crt.se/~boquist/ghc/ghc.tar

The package builds cleanly for me on NetBSD-1.6L and 1.6.1_RC2.

Two distfiles are used, the standard GHC source from www.haskell.org
and the following (pre-compiled C files needed for the bootstrap):

	    http://www.crt.se/~boquist/ghc/ghc-5.04.3-i386-unknown-netbsd-hc.tar.gz

The latter needs to be copied to ftp.netbsd.org, it is not
	(yet) available on www.haskell.org.

All the patches in the package have been sent in to the GHC maintainers.

I also put up a binary package, built on 1.6.1_RC2:

	    http://www.crt.se/~boquist/ghc/ghc-5.04.3.tgz

>How-To-Repeat:
	cd /usr/pkgsrc/lang/ghc; make
