Toshiba SCSI CDROM XM-4101TASUNSLCD

>Description:
New install from bootable CDROM, made from ISO file:
'boot cdrom' works, terminal typ is requested, etc...
Process then asks where the 'sets' are, choose CDROM, it asks what device
/dev/cd0: (not sure if that is exactly correct) hit c/r to accept default (trying many other /dev/??? gets a not found type error).
System pauses for maybe 15 seconds, then produces:

 cd0(esp0:0:6:0): esp0: timed out [ecb 0xf03be000 (flags 0x1 dleft 200, stat 0)],
<state 5, nexus 0xf03be000, phase(I 11,c 1, p 1), resid 200, msg(q, 0,o 0) DMA a
ctive>
cd0(esp0:0:6:0): sync negotiation disabled
cd0(esp0:0:6:0): esp0: timed out [ecb 0xf03be000 (flags 0x1 dleft 200, stat 0)],
<state 5, nexus 0xf03be000, phase(I 11,c 1, p 1), resid 200, msg(q, 20,o 0) DMA
active> AGAIN
esp0: invalid state 6:
esp0: resetting SCSI bus
esp0: invalid state 6:

esp0: invalid state 6:

.............

Booting from HD swap partition and selecting CDROM as location of 'sets' gets same error.

Under SunOS4.1.4 I can mount this CDROM and read all the 'sets' (all the *.tgz files and checksums, and directory structure) just fine.

>How-To-Repeat:
Perform the install steps outlined above. The error is reliably there.
>Fix:
Unknown. Stuart George <sgeorge@mega-tokyo.com> reported an identical bug
09/24/2002, to port-sparc@netbsd.org, but I cannot find a follow-up.
