>Environment:

System: NetBSD 1.5ZC (GENERIC) #0: Tue Apr 2 12:06:18 MST 2002
    chris@legolas.mt.sri.com:/foo/hpcbuild/obj/sys/arch/hpcmips/compile/GENERIC
Architecture: mipsel
Machine: hpcmips

MobilePro 800, 64MB CF card, wi0 wireless ethernet.
>Description:
Halting the machine locks it hard -- it refuses to turn on.

>How-To-Repeat:
"shutdown -p now". Presumably, "halt -p" would do the same thing.
The shutdown sequence looks entirely normal, ending with the machine
appearing to power off or enter standby mode. But pressing the power
button or the reset switch won't start it up again.

>Fix:
Unplug power, remove main battery.

Disassemble machine, unplug the connector for the internal battery.

Wait 15 min. or so.

Plug internal battery in again, reassemble machine.

Insert main battery, plug in power.

Wait 15 min. or so.

Turn on machine.
