graphics/avifile-devel is:
     $NetBSD: Makefile,v 1.23 2001/11/29 01:12:34 hubertf Exp $

Trying to build graphics/avifile-devel does:

=> Creating wrapper script /usr/pkg/pkgsrc/graphics/avifile-devel/work/.buildlin
cd /usr/pkg/pkgsrc/graphics/avifile-devel/work/avifile-0.6 && /bin/sh

If generated 'configure' script is useless try following:
   rm -f configure config.guess condig.sub
   cvs update
creating cache ./config.cache
checking host system type... i386--netbsd
checking target system type... i386--netbsd
/configure: 661: Syntax error: word unexpected (expecting ")")
*** Error code 2

I also tried above suggestion (remove the files, cvs from but didn't work.
