NOTE: this is not the machine the problem occured on. I was attempting to
install from a snapshot cd I made (not with make iso-image, see
install/14947 for why)
System: NetBSD eros.endersgame.net 1.5Z NetBSD 1.5Z (EROS) #204: Fri Dec 14 21:04:07 EST 2001 dive@eros.endersgame.net:/cvs/netbsd/src/sys/arch/i386/compile/EROS i386
Architecture: i386
Machine: i386
>Description:
A bootable install cd created from a current snapshot says, once you
get to the point of installing from cd, that it can't mount the cd. But, if
you select ignore, it is able to unpack the sets just fine.
The snapshot was built via make release in src/etc, sources from 20011214. I
did not use the iso-image target this time, but the same thing happens if I
do use iso-image and workaround the problem explained in install/14947.
>How-To-Repeat:
cd src/etc
# set DESTDIR, RELEASEDIR, etc etc...
make release
rearrange the release tree so that it goes in /i386/* on the cd
image (to fix pr install/14947)
burn the cd
boot, try to install. it will say it couldn't fetch the distribution
sets - but if you tell it to ignore and try again, it works fine.
