>Description:
The INSTALL notes for several (e.g., i386 and SPARC) platforms
show examples of the procedure for moving files (tarballs as
well as the install utilities) to tape using dd(1). However,
many (most?) of these examples fail to add "conv=sync" to the
dd(1) command line. Since it would just be coincidence for
a particular file to be an exact multiple of the block size,
I suspect this would be prudent.
>How-To-Repeat:
Read the INSTALL notes for references to dd(1) in the
context
    of tape devices.
>Fix:
Append "conv=sync" to all dd(1) commands for tape devices.
(Is there a potential down-side to this?)
