>Environment:
Macintosh Quadra 660AV, NetBSD 1.5.1 GENERIC kernel
>Description:
After an install of NetBSD 1.5.1 on a 660AV (36MB RAM, 2GB HD), the Booter finds the NetBSD 1.5.1 kernel and hands over. When the kernel tries to start /sbin/init it can't find it (see log below). By booting with various installation kernels the problem can be isolated: the 1.5.1 kernel does not recognize valid BSD file systems. When I change kernel to 1.5 the problem goes away.

Boot log:
<snip>
root file system type: ffs
exec /sbin/init: error 8
init: not found
panic: no init
Stopped in init at _cpu_Debugger+0x6: unlk a6

>How-To-Repeat:
Install 1.5.1 on a 660AV and boot. Simpler: boot the installation kernel and try to install to a disk with valid BSD partitions.
>Fix:
No fix but a workaround: Revert to NetBSD 1.5
