which means that they also have to configure their IP address in some
way too...

I'm sure it's possible, yes.  But it'd be non-trivial to do, even
minimally, and I really don't see anybody running to do it...

you can always move headers into sys later if people need them.  it's
harder to go in the opposite direction.
