>Description:
i've been experiencing the 'undefined PTL symbol "memcpy"' (also memmove, etc).
others have reported the same problem as well yet the issue is still unresolved. i'm seeing this on the Alpha, others have reported it on Sparc. my application in question is mysql 3.23.29 or any mysql version on alpha. core dumps results from that error.
>How-To-Repeat:
restart the daemon and it'll core dump with that error.
>Fix:
i've been told my mysql developers that our version of egcs is buggy on the alpha. they suggest moving to gcc 2.95.2 which corrected lots of problems on the 64-bit alpha. however, gcc 2.95.2 doesn't compile from pkg and jason said it's not ready for the alpha.
