This is from "man pcmcia" on a stock NetBSD 1.5 i386 system.


The pcmcia(4) manpage describes three *conflicting* "default" PCMCIA
IO spaces as used with 12-bit cards:

Here, 0x400-0x4ff (size 0xff):

  >     For 12-bit wide cards, 0x400-0x4ff is used.

And here, 0x400-0xfff (size 0xbff):

  > In the event that PCMCIA devices
  >      are mapped in 0x400-0xfff and appear to be nonfunctional

And, finally, here 0x400-0x13ff, if I read correctly:

  >          # allocation on 12-bit wide busses (base 0x400 size 0xfff).

(I'd assume this last is a casual braino?)


Just pick one and use it repeatedly. =)
