NetBSD newmail 1.5 NetBSD 1.5 (MAIL) #6: Tue Dec  5 10:03:39 CST 2000     root@newmail:/usr/src/sys/arch/i386/compile/MAIL i386

I wanted to update a users directory via usermod but NOT change the user's login. It tries to move the directory, but fails.

This problem may be related to PR`admin/11707' but isn't quite the same.
$ usermod -v -d/usr/test testme
Command: /bin/mv /usr/test /usr/test
mv: rename /usr/test to /usr/test: No such file or directory
usermod: [Warning] can't system `/bin/mv /usr/test /usr/test'
usermod: can't move `/usr/test' to `/usr/test': Inappropriate ioctl for device
