NetBSD node207-144 1.5_BETA2 NetBSD 1.5_BETA2 (LAP) #3: Wed Nov 8 03:20:51 PST 2000 root@node207-144:/usr/src/sys/arch/i386/compile/LAP i386
>Description:
I have found that the IBM InfoMover PCMCIA Ethernet card works on the laptop install kernel, but after I installed everything and booted using the GENERIC_LAPTOP kernel, it was detected, but NetBSD would not allow me to configure it:
node207-144:/root>ifconfig ne0 inet 207.1.227.144 netmask 0xffffffc0 media UTP
ifconfig: SIOCSIFMEDIA: Device not configured

If I insert or boot with the card in, I get:
Nov 8 19:35:24 node207-144 /netbsd: ne0 detached
Nov 8 19:35:29 node207-144 /netbsd: pcmcia0: CIS checksum failed

I have tried compiling new kernels, removing drivers and options from the config file, and I still cannot get the card to configure.
