we don't probe the port, which is (according to Windows '98) IRQ 4 and

0x3F8.  I have noticed that that *is* where we probe.  (BTW, if it's

I'm typing wrong here, but it is the same...)  I'm willing to run weird
test
kernels or diagnostics if it'll help.

 A workaround is to run the dos program `ps2' to enable them. Someone
 ought to disassemble it to find out what it does.
