I think there are a wide variety of issues with daily/weekly/monthly
scripts and laptops.

Including:

  a) They run find on the entire filesystem multiple times. This could be
avoided with some clever thought.

  b) You'd like them to run every so-often, but laptops are often
off/asleep for long periods of time (relative to the desired frequency,
at least), and then they execute the cron jobs when they next wake.

  c) You'd like them run when battery life isn't an issue.

I think a more comprehensive review is in order.
