Recently, I'm getting similar panics on my alpha:
 NetBSD 1.4Y (VEGA) #31: Fri May 12 16:56:01 JST 2000
    iwamoto@vega.sat.t.u-tokyo.ac.jp:/usr/src/syssrc/sys/arch/alpha/compile/VEGA

I experienced no panics when running cvs update (with a NFS mounted
repository). All panics were during running /etc/daily, IIRC.
I suspect memory leaks because it takes 7-10 days before panics.
I will disable softdeps and see if a panic happens again.
