Well, for what it's worth I can certainly confirm that in my
not-particularly-recent NetBSD-current (1.4S i386) the bug exists & kernel
panics.

I'll try out the patch (if noone else beats me to it,) but I'll
need to upgrade to the latest -current first, so it may take a while :*).
