Any news on this problem?

As a reminder, synopsis was:

This weekend I attempted to assist in the installation of
NetBSD 1.4.2 on a SONY Vaio C1 (Picturebook) and saw
results consistent with this PR. I don't have direct
access to the machine, but could get additional tests
done with high latency.
