Boot an INSTALL kernel on a Sony VAIO Z505HE with a USB
floppy connected and PNP disabled in the BIOS. Watch the laptop
hang right before the md0 probe.
Enabling PNP in the BIOS fixes this.
It is not necessary to boot off of the USB floppy to cause
this failure; merely connecting it is sufficient.
