NetBSD khwarizmi 1.4.2 NetBSD 1.4.2 (GENERIC) #3: Wed Mar 15 23:41:54 PST 2000 toddpw@vader.toddpw.net:/usr/src/sys/arch/i386/compile/GENERIC i386
>Description:
Using the installed GENERIC kernel described above, I have a problem
with mounting union filesystems which goes away when I build my own
copy of the GENERIC kernel. Thus the installed kernel can't really be
GENERIC, and I can't peek at toddpw's src tree to see how it broke
union filesystems.
Using his kernel, I get the following behavior:
>How-To-Repeat:
(install NetBSD 1.4.2)
# mkdir /tmp/lower
# mkdir /tmp/upper
# mount -t union /tmp/upper /tmp/lower
mount_union: /tmp/upper on /tmp/lower: Operation not supported by device
>Fix:
Rebuild GENERIC kernel, reboot, and watch the union mount work.
The distributed version should perhaps get fixed too.
