I seem to recall that they declared themselves with one of the
16x50-compatible designations, or maybe 0x00 (generic XT compatible
serial controller).  It's been a while.

The issues is that i'm not aware of an actual programming interface
specification for class 7 subclass 0 with _any_ interfaces.  most of
7/3's interfaces seems (loosely, as would seem to be the PCI tradition
8-) specified right below where they're defined, but there's no such
specification for the 7/0 interfaces, and, like i said, experience has
told me that they aren't consistent...


i'll see if i can dig up any of my old dmesg logs that said exactly
how the devices in question reported themselves.
