Well, maybe you need to install an MBR and boot sector:
boot from floppy, and get a shell.
Then type
'fdisk -i wd0'
and
'/usr/mdec/installboot /usr/mdec/biosboot.sym /dev/rwd0a'
Change wd0 to sd0 if you use an SCSI disk.

Also check that you don't have a virus detector on in your BIOS, some
interpret the NetBSD boot loader as a virus :)
