System: NetBSD hideo 1.3F NetBSD 1.3F (HIDEO) #3: Mon Jul 20 15:17:56 MDT 1998 root@hideo:/usr/src/sys/arch/i386/compile/HIDEO i386

>Description:
While running dd to a floppy on one console, if I do much of anything
else on another console, the machine locks hard. No keyboard input,
no keyclick (I have an annoying keyboard which always clicks when I
hit keys), the floppy drive light stays on, but it doesn't make the
cylinder-switch noise.

>How-To-Repeat:
ttyE0: "dd if=boot.fs of=/dev/fd0a"

ttyE8: Login and telnet to another machine. It usually locks before I
get the prompt.

>Fix:
workaround: Don't do anything else while it's writing to floppy. It
successfully writes the floppy, and the system is usable afterwards.
