>Description:

I am pleased to submit a package for f2c.

catergory: lang

f2c is a fortran to c converter. It includes a shell script which
provides at least partial emulation of a f77 command.

The pkgsrc is available at:

http://www-mtl.mit.edu/~mcmahill/netbsd/f2c-19980516-pkgsrc.tgz

In addition the distfile is at:

http://www-mtl.mit.edu/~mcmahill/netbsd/f2c.tar

unfortunately, f2c, is often updated and there really isn't
a version number assigned to it. In fact, the distfile gets
created "on the fly" when downloaded from netlib.
there is a file, src/version.c which has some sort of version
number (or version date), but I've seen the sources get updated
without this changing. All in all it can make maintaining this
package somewhat of a headache.

For this reason, I have included the most recent distfile. We
may want to simply change MASTER_SITES to be

ftp://ftp.netbsd.org/pub/NetBSD/packages/distfiles/

that way it doesn't change quite so quickly.

I'll leave that up to the best judgement of a more official
NetBSD person.
