In a bug report of 26-Feb-98 [1], I wrote about how my NetBSD 1.3 i386
installation randomly crashes with "panic: vrele: ref cnt".

The problem became worse, to the extent that it would panic and reboot
about five or six times a day. A temporary fix has been to change the
BIOS setting for the CPU speed from 100MHz to "Compatible". This has the
effect of slowing the machine down considerably, but it doesn't panic
with this setting.

Today I tried upgrading to 1.3.1 and putting it back to normal (full)
CPU speed, but it crashed again within a couple of hours.

Any clues ? I thought I'd have one more try at asking for advise before
I have to resort to totally swapping the hardware :-(

Environment:

NetBSD office 1.3.1 NetBSD 1.3.1 (WACE) #0: Tue Apr 14 15:26:02 BST 1998
Hardware: Dell OptiPlex XL 5100, 48MB RAM, 2 x DEC DSP3107LS disks.
