At the end of the installation procedure, there is a 
menu choice to reboot the system.  If it is selected,
the tool terminates and we drop to what looks like a
root shell prompt.  After five or ten seconds the
machine reboots, but there is never any message indicating
that a reboot is in progress or that we should wait.

Choose the "reboot" option off the right menu on the install tool.

Just print "reboot in progress" or some such.
