Sorry, you got something wrong. Did you ever try lpc while there was a
job in the queue (on your machine)? The message "no daemon present" refers
to the fact that no (actively) spooling daemon is present. (lpd forks when
spooling a job.) I admit, that this message is easy to misunderstand, but
it's no bug.
