I think everyone is missing the bigger picture. A site redesign has
got to be more than putting a new layout or new colors on the pages.
It is about making the site more easily maintainable. It is about
better organizing documents. It is about making the site more usable.
From an advocacy point of view, we need to discuss goals and
expectations. What are we trying to achieve via NetBSD.org? The
Foundation did not adopt a new logo because it didn't like the
colors...NetBSD is evolving its identity. We need to discuss what
this is and where we want it to go. This will provide great insight
into what a new design must achieve. From here we can develop a list
of requirements etc.

My suggestion for a "call for designs" was not intended as a
competition, but rather an outreach to the web design community for
their professional help. We make the community aware of our situation
and provide public documentation about what we are trying to achieve.
Have faith that the community will respond.
