Same here.  Since FreeBSD is considered the 'mother BSD' for some strange reason,
people definitely associate the daemon with it more.  OpenBSD is using that fish
now, so they don't seem to have the problem of being confused with FreeBSD anymore. 
It would be nice if we could have our own little mascot.

I personally like the debian and SuSE logos.  They're very distinct and can be
recreated easily, and most stuff with those logos is easily identifiable.  NetBSD
needs something like that; something simple and unique.
