I've been liking fluxbox--a derivative/split from blackbox.
(Both of which, BTW, are available in pkgsrc, for the adventurous)

I'd been using fvwm/fvwm2 for about 10 years--I suppose it was time to
try something different.  One thing I miss is the ability to jump
between workspaces by moving the mouse "off" the screen...
