What they are saying on the IBM site is that AIX 5L is basically
AIX 4.3 with Linux "affinity". It allows easy recompilation of
source code for Linux applications on AIX. This gives them a perceived
upgrade path from their Intel boxes to their Power boxes.

It would take them years to port Linux to systems like the SP, and have it
be as reliable as AIX.
