I also tried an install, which needed 2 disks for the install, and a
third for diagnosis. (Emergency Holographic Shell)

The install recognized the Intel Etherexpress, but wouldn't send/receive
traffic on it. (The same machine and card worked fine under NetBSD and er,
'NT') I posted to a FreeBSD list and got a reply, but no one could
suggest anything.

I tried the EHS to see if I could get any further. The EHS was
frustratingly limited. It didn't have many of the utilities that I
get when dropping to a shell from the 1 disk NetBSD sysinst.
(It isn't a real shell either, it was confused by many things I
typed.)

It seemed to me that FreeBSD had focused a lot on CD based installs.
I wanted to do a network install. I never did get the machine
running FreeBSD.
