I've been watching people say this for years. I've also been watching
the commit logs for NetBSD for years, and I haven't noticed any
slowing down. I always wonder where people get the idea from that the
project is losing critical mass.

Isn't it kind of impressive that a project with something like five
orders of magnitude fewer users than Linux can give Linux a run for
its money in terms of kernel development? I think it's telling that
NetBSD continues to attract developer talent without the media
exposure and user base of Linux. It says that NetBSD is doing
something right, even if it's doing everything else wrong.
