I used to compile my linux kernels under NetBSD, using linux's toolchain under
emulation. This means that at last gcc,  as, ld works. Add to this the
curses-based kernel configurator (I didn't try the graphical one, I don't
like it :).
Acrobat reader works fine, as well as netscape 3.

netscape 3 works nicely.
I also tried the Legato networker client, it worked fine. But this was
3 years ago, I don't know if it still works :)

I tried solaris's Wabi 3 years ago, it was fully functionnal.
