MP is an area where I'm totally ignorant of what progress is going
on. OTOH, there are some good people doing work of various sorts near
the MP critical path.

I personally intend to make some serious inquiries in this regard in
my capacity as release engineer, but not until after the 1.4 release
comes out.

In any case, the trend keeps shifting towards more openness about how
the project is being managed and what's being discussed, so I'm not
overly worried that the status of the MP work is going to remain
buried for too much longer.
