Does it matter significantly?  Ultimately NetBSD will run on the victor. :)  
There is "FREE" hardware available all the time.  Either via reference 
designs that you can then build, or old "junk" that someone is throwing
out.  Get real if you think you'll get a new high performance machine
for "free" any time soon.

I have no spite for you either.  I would only ask that you provide
more details about what you really want.  Unfortunately your question
is not much better than:
"What would you have for breakfast?  A bagel, or toast?"

You'll find plenty to say a bagel, plenty to say toast, and plenty to
say "Real Men eat pancakes, bagels and toast are for sissies."

Perhaps if you described this decision you are trying to make, people
could provide more informative answers regarding how NetBSD could work
for you.
