I don't know the guy, but from his reputation I'd be surprised if Kirk
decided to become a major obstacle... I'd very much like to use the daemon
on the bezel. (The Walnut Creek / FreeBSD bezel uses the daemon.)

I was under the (incorrect?) assumption that the design contest would sort
of use the daemon by default...
