When just this much is quoted, it does...
I believe we were talking about scatter/gather I/O, though, which
allows a DMA device to grab data from and put data into scattered
(i.e., non-contiguous) PHYSICAL memory addresses.  The mmap() interface
is at a different (higher) level.
