You might be able to use something like MacMiNT.  You will not be able
to use MacBSD (or MacLinux when that's finished as far as I know).  There
was a couple of students who were working on a Linux port to the
PowerMac, but they were running into almost insuperable problems for a
while--I don't know how they fare, now.  There is some effort to get a
PowerPC version of NetBSD up, but someone would need to add drivers and
setup for the PowerMacs to that to get something working...
