Wow - We used dt on an external monitor...Umm...I'm trying to remember 
what kind...We ended up just yanking the card and using the internal 
(which we don't really use at all...just network...) and called it even.  
This is on an SE/30, btw...

As for screen, I'm assuming you're talking about GNU Screen...As far as I 
can guess, it would only work wherever you have an ITE running...So, if 
your external has an ITE on it that's called /dev/console, /dev/ttye0, 
whatever, then screen will run on it.  As for screen creating its own 
ITE, I dunno...but I'd guess not...
