Actually, these are two unrelated patches.  The patch to the kernel's
grf.c is a bug fix, and the patches to dt are speedups to the scrolling
code.  The old dt works fine, it's just inordinately slow at scrolling
(and screen clearing, erasing, etc.) on screens with large rowbytes.
If your video card doesn't work with the new kernel, the new dt
probably won't help you.  :-)
