it usually 
'dies' here....sometime, it will take in input...however, only once in a 
while. if i manage to type root, it takes me up to the term question
and *then* dies. the keyboard is fine in multi. if i press enough
random keys, i may get a 'myname#' prompt but nothing can be executed.
hmmm...any obvious mistakes on my part?
