I think maybe the right thing to do is to add some code to majordomo,
but the person(s) maintaining it at Berkeley probably don't want to do
that at random.  I agree that sending out a huge info message that
somebody might not be expecting is the wrong thing to do.

In any case, I'm sorry my previous message generated so much traffic -
it was intended as a suggestion rather than as a prelude to
