I think I know what I did wrong... just getting out of it is the problem.

I used rm to remove a large directory from the installer but it did not
recursivly kill everything inside. and fsck couldn't fix it.

df shows: (du and fsck show the same used count)

tot blocks    used blocks  freeblocks
96662         77922        9072

but 77922+9072 != 96662

suggestions?
