I believe that is (or should be) correct. The only purpose in using
string identifiers _at all_, with their extra space cost, is so that
they can be conveniently extensible in a way that pure 32-bit
integers are not. Therefore, anywhere the protocol defines a string
identifier, it should be extensible using the @ mechanism.
