Well, good news/bad news with that change. The good news is X does not crash but the bad
news is I just get a black screen with a white block cursor in the top left corner. The
machine is responsive, I can switch between virtual consoles without problem, just no
display.  I need to dig through the logs and dmesg to see if there is anything helpful.
