UEFI boot on amd64 and i386?

Not sure which @netbsd.org list to post this to, other candidates being port-amd64, port-i386 or netbsd-users.

My system is Intel Sandy Bridge, 64-bit, capable of running amd64 and i386 software.

Question is whether it is possible to UEFI-boot an i386 installation of a newer version of NetBSD, or would it be only amd64?

If I want to boot NetBSD-i386, could I use /usr/mdec/bootia32.efi, /usr/mdec/bootx64.efi, or would booting NetBSD=i386 be impossible.

I trust I could still hope to boot NetBSD-amd64.
