ok - I didn't think my memory was that bad ;)

It looks like the device is probed via acpi and then fails to attach
properly.  It doesn't look like the pckbc slot gets cleared in this case
which may lead to interesting situations. I have not had a close look
but there is an infinite loop in pckbc_intr_hard that may cause a lock
but this is only a quick look so I may be totally wrong.

As a matter of interest have you tried disabling acpi during boot? This
will probably break a lot of things but if the machine boots up it may
be interesting to see if the keyboard locks up when the trackpad it
used.  I suspect it won't.

I will try to have a bit more of a dig at this when I get a bit of time.
