How much memory and how many cpus should there be?
Any idea how many different memory regions?
(I remember something about the system not like lots of memory regions.)

IIRC the amd64 kernel doesn't need the cd9660 kmod loaded, I've have
thought there would be an error message about that load failing.

Serial port line noise might just be because it is running at the wrong
baud rate.
